August 5th First Friday Event!

  Be Sure to Attend This First Friday Event! The Garden Fairies  & the Friends of the Seward Library are joining up again to do an Art Walk in the Garden!  Fiber Art pieces from a quilting group that use fiber scraps to create beautiful art work pieces that are table runners and mats to lap quilts and wall art.  Come view this art work in the Library Museum garden during the First Friday art walk 6pm to 8pm, August 5, 2016.  Art will be available for sale, all proceeds go to maintain our most beautiful public garden in Seward! We will also be doing our 'Salmon Dip Off' contest!  A popular event last year during our garden party, come taste the dips and vote for the best one!  Winner by popular vote receives a certificate for 4 persons on a Major Marine Tour . Summer Volunteer Opportunity

Are you looking for a great summer opportunity to make a difference in your community? And do you enjoy being outdoors? How about painting? Then check out this volunteer opportunity: Volunteer Project: Repainting P.A.R.K.S. Playground Sign Up Here Our art and the paintings at our P.A.R.K.S. Community Playground (next to Evan Casey Skate Park) at Ballaine Boulevard and Adams Street are fading in Seward’s bright sun. We need volunteers who enjoy painting to bring back vibrancy. SPRD will close the playground for two (2) days (a sunny Tuesday and Wednesday) so volunteers have time to clean and paint and the paint has time to dry. Please choose a shift from 8 AM to 6 PM Tuesday, July 19 &/or Wednesday, July 20, 2016; weather permitting. SPRD will supply everything needed for this project; we just need some extraordinary artists' to help make the playground look incredible again.
